It is meant for people who already understand the basics of stocks and chart reading and now want to learn derivatives properly, including traders who have tried options and lost money without knowing why.
Options and futures are not ideal first topics. If terms like support, resistance and trend are new to you, start with technical analysis or the Diploma. The Option & Future course runs about 1.5 months and assumes you can form a view on a stock or index.
It suits you if you are:
- A stock trader wanting to hedge holdings with puts or covered calls.
- An option buyer who keeps losing premium to time decay.
- Someone preparing for NISM Series VIII who wants practical understanding, not only theory.
- A finance professional who needs to understand derivative pricing and risk.
Expect a strong focus on risk management. SEBI’s FY25 study found 91% of individual F&O traders lost money, with net losses above ₹1 lakh crore. Students who come in expecting quick money often change their approach once they see how margin, lot size and volatility interact.
Picture a trader with ₹1,50,000 who sells naked options every expiry. One gap-up day could erase a year’s premium. Learning defined-risk spreads changes that picture.
