NCFM stands for NSE’s Certification in Financial Markets. It is a set of certification programmes run by the National Stock Exchange, covering subjects from market basics to derivatives and technical analysis.
NCFM is different from NISM. NISM certificates are linked to SEBI’s requirements for specific jobs, such as mutual fund distribution or derivatives dealing. NCFM certificates are more about building and showing knowledge, and they come in beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
How students usually use them:
- NISM first, when a job in broking, distribution or research needs a mandatory certificate.
- NCFM alongside it, to strengthen a resume with topics like options strategies or technical analysis.
- Both together if you’re aiming for a market career and want broader coverage.
A hypothetical example: a B.Com graduate applying to a broking firm’s dealing desk would likely need NISM Series VIII. Adding an NCFM module on derivatives or technical analysis shows extra depth during the interview.
Our Advance Diploma in Stock Market prepares students for 3 NISM and 2 NCFM exams along with practical training. If you want only the exam preparation, look at our NISM exam preparation course and speak to a counsellor about which combination fits your goal.
