Short Term Stock Market Course in Mumbai: 6–8 Week Options Compared
Your semester ends in May and the next one starts in July. Or you have a notice period, a lighter quarter at work, or simply no appetite for a 6-month commitment. You want something focused that you can finish in about two months.
A short term stock market course fits that window. At Upside, several classroom courses run 1.5 to 2 months, and two more come in flexible formats. This post compares every one of them side by side, using details from the official courses page.
Each course goes deep on one skill. The trick is choosing the skill you need first.

Technical Analysis (1.5 Months)
Best for anyone who wants to read charts and time entries and exits. You cover candlesticks (single, double and triple patterns), support and resistance, trend lines, chart patterns, moving averages, MACD, RSI, Bollinger Bands, VWAP, Fibonacci and trading psychology, using live charts.
It is open to anyone above 16 and comes with a certificate plus NCFM Technical Analysis exam prep. Preview the topics in what you’ll learn in a technical analysis course.
Fundamental Analysis (1.5 Months)
Best for long-term investors. The course covers EIC analysis, balance sheet, P&L, cash flow, annual reports, ratio analysis, DCF valuation and stock screening, with a focus on mid and small-cap stock picking.
It includes NCFM Fundamental Analysis exam prep and a completion certificate. A good starting read is 10 ratios to check before buying a stock.
Options & Futures (1.5 Months)
Best for people who already understand basic charts and want to trade derivatives with defined risk. The Options & Futures course teaches 24+ strategies, both option buying and selling, Greeks, the option chain, hedging, position sizing, and NIFTY and BANKNIFTY index options.
Trainers are active traders, and the course includes lifetime post-course support. One caution: SEBI’s FY26 study found 87.7% of individual F&O traders lost money, with options causing about 92% of losses. Treat this as a course in managing risk, not a shortcut to returns.
Can’t decide between two short courses? A free demo class is available for every course, so you can sit both before choosing.
Commodity Market, Research Analysis and the Flexible Formats
Commodity Market (1.5 months)
Covers NCDEX and MCX trading, hard vs soft commodities, hedging, SEBI regulation, the Indian spot exchange, and clearing and settlement. Suits traders interested in gold, silver or crude, and people from businesses that use hedging. For background, read commodity trading on MCX for beginners.
Research Analysis Certification (2 months)
Mapped to the NISM Series XV: Research Analyst syllabus, with exam prep included. Covers top-down vs bottom-up analysis, corporate actions, valuation, writing research reports, and regulation and ethics. It leads towards roles at broking, advisory, institutional research and PMS firms.
Intraday & Swing Trading (7 days to 12 weeks)
Comes in four formats: a 7-day crash course, a 30-day beginner programme, a 6-week full practical course and an 8–12 week mentorship. It is classroom only, with no online or recorded version. Its core rule is “no stop-loss, no trade”.
NISM Exam Preparation (4–6 weeks)
Covers Series VIII (Equity Derivatives) and Series XV (Research Analyst), with mock tests, study material and negative-marking strategy, in evening and weekend batches.
Which Short Term Stock Market Course Should You Pick?
Use your goal, not the fee, to decide. Most short courses cost the same, so the fee is rarely the tiebreaker.
- “I want to trade my own account”: start with Technical Analysis, then consider Options & Futures.
- “I want to invest for the long term”: Fundamental Analysis.
- “I want a research job”: Research Analysis Certification or NISM prep.
- “I want a fast, structured trading routine”: Intraday & Swing Trading in the format that fits your time.
If you find yourself wanting three short courses, compare that with the 4-month Diploma in Stock Market at ₹40,000 one-time, which covers Technical, Fundamental and Equity Derivatives together. The FAQ asking can I learn trading in 2 months sets realistic expectations for a short timeline.
